Not Prejudice, Just Curious?
Why can African Americans have all these magazines, organizations and or groups for black people and white people are not allowed this? Like NAACP, Black History Month, VIBE, EBONY, African American Golfer’s Digest, Black Family Digest, BET Network, just to name a few. Is there such a thing as white history month, Caucasian Golfer’s Digest, National Association for the advancement of white people (NAAWP)?
Why do black people call themselves, African Americans? My Father’s ancestors are from Ireland and my Mother’s family is from Canada. We do not call ourselves Irish Canadian Americans. I am an AMERICAN! I know this will open a can of worms, but I am just curious. If I published a magazine directed and marketed to just white people, it would be a discriminatory magazine and it would be protested. Again, I am just curious! Can anyone answer me with out getting upset with my curiosity?
I’m really glad that the racial barriers have been broken for the most part, and we can finally act as a civilized group of human beings. Even though we’re different, we have common bonds: we breathe the same air, drink the same water, bleed the same color blood–need I go on? But there are still some stupid muthafuckas like you in the world that feel the need to see the world in black and white. And don’t act like slavery was like 100 years ago…it may have slacked up through the years, but some of it still goes on today. I can remember my grandmother and other blacks talking about the racist struggles, lynching, and other cruel things white people did that they saw with their own eyes. And these black “magazines, organizations, and TV programs” were the result of positivity – Blacks had to stick together to prove that they were as equal as any Caucasion or other race. White people wouldn’t let blacks be a part of their sh*t so we had to start our own sh*t. So why hate on it? Whites have more control over this nation than blacks and it’s proved by looking at any magazine, TV program, or organization other than the ones you listed. So the best thing for you to do is shut your f*cking mouth, grow up, and quit whining like a little b*tch.
Oh, and about Black History Month, 11 months of the year are yours–we were just obliged enough to settle for the month with the fewest days…
