I have a question about carryon?
I’m flying from Indianapolis to Atlanta, Georgia by AirTran Airways in a few hours. Now, for our carryon, I heard somewhere that we are allowed to have a bag and a personal item, and a purse was considered a personal item.
Is this true? I have a small Vera Bradley backpack and my purse. The backpack has a few books and magazines, and the purse has normal purse objects in it. Will I be able to take both on the plane or will they confiscate one of my bags?

Yes, my brother and I are sharing a large suitcase, which we are checking in. The only thing I will be taking as carryon will be the backpack and the purse.
First of all your taking a great airline. I took them about 2 years ago and they were great I loved the XM radio in the arm rests. It was a great flight. Ya your purse is considered a personal item. I was just on a plan and I had my purse, backpack and a big bag.
