If You Need Information On Magazine You Then This is The Best Untapped Resource On The Web

What is your favourite quilting magazine?
I want to subscribe to a quilting magazine, I love the excitement of getting something fun in the mail and I buy them off the rack anyways so I think it’s cheaper to subscribe.
What is your favourite and why? Does it have a lot of articles, patterns, and tips? Does it have a website with additional features for subscribers? How much does it cost, and where can I subscribe?
Even if you don’t know all of the above, any help is appreciated!
I live in Canada if that makes a difference.
I buy quilting magazines for the inspiration, the patterns, and the tips. I’m not particularly interested in articles. I subscribe to Fons & Porter’s Love of Quilting, American Patchwork & Quilting, and a new one (well, new to the US, anyway) called Quiltmania that’s based in France. They only recently started publishing editions in English. I like this one because it features quilts that are not like the things you see in every other magazine in the US. I like the different inspirations. Unfortunately, it does take quite a while to arrive.
As for the other two, both have fantastic websites (see below) with additional material for anyone, not just subscribers. Both have a good variety of patterns, including different skill levels and different techniques. Fons & Porter also has cut out pages that teach a specific technique – making half square triangles, for example.
I often pick up McCall’s Quilting, and am thinking of subscribing to that one. I’m also considering a subscription to Quilt. It says it’s “America’s #1 Quilting Magazine” but I haven’t seen it before. It also had some good patterns. I’ve purchased a couple recently by Quilter’s Newsletter Magazine, which is more complex – they lean toward the inspirational, with a lot of articles.
When you choose the magazines you subscribe to, take into account what kind of deal you can get for subscribing – some are better than others. The cost varies depending on the deal you can find. Generally, you’re looking at around $20 for a single year, which could be from 6 to 12 issues. There are links to all of the websites below, and they all have subscription information.
